Victorian Rowhouse

During the mid-to-late nineteenth century, the expansion of the urban middle class created a distinct housing typology positioned between sprawling aristocratic estates and high-density worker tenements. Often configured as terraged (look it up) or semi-detached layouts, these residences catered to prosperous merchants, military officers, and senior civil servants. These homes sometimes integrated a private side garden! This building is the house of a naval commander from my homebrew setting of Nythala. Situated along a paved residential avenue in Stormhaven, the capital port of the Concord Republic, this single-story house reflects the captain's status and fortune as a decorated naval commander. Spending upwards of 220 days a year at sea conducting anti-piracy patrols and trade escorts, the captain finances the home's lavish appointments through a combination of naval commission pay and naval prize money awarded for seized vessel cargoes.
